Cornella - El Prat Stadium, Barcelona
Sunday, May 13, 2012
There will always be a special bond between these two clubs after they met in Glasgow for the 2007 UEFA Cup Final, a cracking game that ended 2-2 after extra time and was won by the Andalusians on penalties. Two of the players that played that day, Espanyol’s Dani Jarque and Sevilla’s Antonio Puerta, both tragically died some time after while still at the peaks of their careers, and that has further intensified the brotherhood between the clubs placed sixth and seventh in the all-time ranking of La Liga – and games between them always double as a tribute to the memory of two much missed club heroes.
