Existing home prices fall in Barcelona for the first time since 2001

The price of an existing home in Barcelona has fallen by 1.3% in 2007´s second trimester, according to an Internet study on idealista.com which states that the decrease of prices in the main property markets “is more and more pronounced all the time.”

In the Catalan capital, the average price is 4.285 euros per square metre, its first drop since 2001.

Thus, every district in Barcelona dropped in price, although the largest drops took place in Le Corts (-3.2%) and Gracia (-0.3%).

The Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district has experienced a drop of 0.2% in price, however it is still the most expensive of the Ciudad Condal.
